Adan Jimenez was born in the San Joaquin Valley in California to Mexican immigrant parents. He became an immigrant himself when he moved to Singapore after living in New York for almost a decade. He has worked for comic book stores, book stores, gaming stores, and even a hoagie sandwich shop once. He loves comics, LEGOs, books, games (analog and video), Doctor Who and sandwiches. He currently edits video games for a living.
Felicia Low-Jimenez was born and bred in Singapore and has worked around books for most of her adult life. She has bought books, sold books, marketed books, and now she writes books. If she could, she would spend most of her time reading, napping, and daydreaming. She is currently the Publisher at Difference Engine, an independent comics publishing house.
The first book in the Sherlock Sam series, Sherlock Sam and the Missing Heirloom in Katong, won the International Schools Libraries Network’s Red Dot Award 2013-2014 in the Younger Readers’ Category. The series is also a three-time Popular Readers’ Choice Awards winner in the English Children’s Books Category, having won third place in 2013 for Sherlock Sam and the Ghostly Moans in Fort Canning, first place in 2017 for Sherlock Sam and the Quantum Pair in Queenstown, and, most recently, second place in 2018 for Sherlock Sam and the Fiendish Heist in London.
The North American Rights for the first three books in the Sherlock Sam series were sold to Andrews McMeel Publishing – making its break into the North American market an unprecedented first by a locally published book series. The first three books have also been translated into Bahasa Indonesia by Buah Hati and books 1 to 5 have been translated into Turkish by Nemesis Kitap. There is also an animated series based on the Sherlock Sam books currently in development by August Media.
